We are looking for a passionate and driven Mechanical Design Engineer (Member of the Technical Staff - Mechanical Engineering) to join our experienced team. You will conceptualize, design, and develop innovative mechanical systems - shepherding them from ideation through final production, assembly and test.

Work Model

This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with three to 4 says of onsite work required in El Segundo, CA as the business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design mechanical systems for space, air and ground-based payloads, sensors and systems
  • Perform structural analysis using finite element modeling and analysis tools
  • Create machine drawings using GD&T
  • Assemble and test mechanical systems
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop requirements and interfaces
  • Work independently, and under the direction of systems engineering, project management, and scientists
  • Work with other engineers to solve multi-disciplinary problems

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Member of the Technical Staff - Mechanical Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional working experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Experience in CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, and Creo
  • Proficient in creating machine drawings using GD&T
  • Experience using FEA software packages
  • Experience with conventional machining processes and design for manufacturing
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work locations around the world approximately once a year
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Proficient using FEA software packages
  • Experience with mechanism or optomechanical design

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$86,600 - $129,800 Pay Basis: Annual
