This role is responsible for developing processes, tooling, and methods of improvement for the plant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Engineering: New product review, development and start up Technical support for manufacturing operations including training Confer with vendors to determine product specification and prices Cost new products, equipment and proposed process modifications Confer with key personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes and new products Assist customers and Tech Support with product application and trouble shooting Assist in maintenance of bills of material and associated data bases Review processes for cost reductions Minor fixture and tool design Six Sigma project sponsor Quality: Supervise and manage quality personnel and activities Adhere to plant Safety Program and policies Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment Understand and actively participate in Haldex Way activities Perform other duties as required by supervisor Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Manufacturing Engineer degree or related technical degree with practical work experience Must have good mechanical skills Blueprint reading including Geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD&T) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Some CAD experience a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
