Job Description:

Saab is seeking a leader of our newly established Program Performance Management (PPM) function responsible for providing proactive and actionable program performance data. The candidate will lead a geographically dispersed team of PPM analysts focused on program planning/scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting, risk/opportunity management support, and assessing/deploying associated tools. This position will report directly to the VP of Program Excellence and work closely with business leadership in formulating and executing program execution strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures alignment of program plans with organizational strategy and contractual requirements. Leads and mentors a team of managers, planners, Earned Value Management (EVM) Analysts, and tools team.

  • Directs overall planning for an organization's activities to develop and promote the organization's vision and strategy.

  • Directs the development of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) which encompasses required tasks, linkages, durations, resource optimization, and risk management.

  • Ensures full integration of budget, cost, and schedule performance for EVM reporting.

  • Responsible for providing line of business program, project, and product managers with tools and processes to achieve program and business objectives.

  • Ensures the organization is recognized as value-added to the business through effective and efficient services including consistent implementation of analysis and recommendations, standard tools, policies and procedures based on program requirements.

  • Creates policies & procedures appropriate for the program/product management function and EVM compliance.

  • Interprets and recommends modifications to company-wide policies and practices.

  • Conducts business briefings for senior leadership and for external representatives or customers.

  • Interacts with external customers, subcontractors, government auditing agencies, and tool vendors.

  • Establish and achieve operational and people objectives for the department.

  • Travel required

You seek guidance to reprioritize as needed to adjust with changing business needs and take action with urgency as appropriate.

  • Coach/Mentor: You are a sounding board for Saab's PMs, provide guidance, and counseling when needed across various scenarios in the PM lifecycle.

Compensation Range: $184,400 - $248,900

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in program/portfolio management in a government contracting or professional services environment.

  • 15+ years of experience in program controls.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline required.

  • Must have extensive experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) including hands-on development of program schedules and budgets.

  • Must have experience leading or supporting EVM Business System site validation with DCMA

  • Experience with creating and managing geographically dispersed teams.

  • Expert user for of MS Project, Primavera 6, OpenPlan, and Deltek Cobra. Including development of user dashboards via PowerBi.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Expert communication and writing skills.
