Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our rapidly expanding team in Troy, MI. As a member of the operations team in Troy, MI, the Technical Specialist position provides accurate and efficient calibration of electronic and mechanical systems. Responsible for the successful execution and management of all
internal and external instrument calibration work. Perform calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of test equipment to meet A2LA requirements and other quality standards and specifications.



Responsibilities

    Inspect and test measuring instruments against established standards, adjusting as needed to ensure accuracy
  • Identify and resolve problems with equipment that may affect calibration accuracy
  • Document calibration results, including dates, readings, and adjustments made, in detailed reports
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to prevent malfunctions and maintain calibration stability
  • Adhere to standard calibration methods and quality control protocols
  • Keep a record of calibration equipment, supplies, and spare parts
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and quality control personnel to ensure calibration compliance
  • Train and mentor test technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting, best practices, and proper equipment usage


Skills / Qualifications

  • A degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and calibration standards
  • Familiarity with calibration software and data management systems
  • Previous experience working as a test technician or in a related technical field
  • Proven experience with the calibration of test equipment and maintaining accurate calibration records in compliance with A2LA requirements
