Job Title: Material Handling Manager Job Summary The Material Handling Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials. This role ensures that all materials are handled efficiently and safely, in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be methodical, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement and innovation in materials management processes. How you will accomplish o Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials. o Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms. o Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries and quality standards. o Oversee the accurate tracking of inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production demands. o Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and prevent stockouts. o Utilize technology to digitize and streamline inventory management processes. o Manage the storage of materials, ensuring they are organized, secure, and easily accessible. o Coordinate the distribution of materials to various departments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. o Develop and implement safety protocols for handling and storing materials. o Train, mentor, and supervise materials handling staff, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency. o Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. o Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation. o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all materials handling processes. o Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for core materials management functions. o Prepare and present reports on materials management activities and performance. Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, with a focus on procurement, storage, inventory management, and distribution. * Skills: o Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance. o Proficient in developing and tracking KPIs. o Experience with digitizing forms and integrating technology to enhance efficiency. o Excellent organizational and leadership skills. o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. o Proficient in SAP Physical Requirements * Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. * Prolonged periods of standing and walking. * Occasional exposure to warehouse environments with varying temperatures. |
