The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for specialized Rental and Production Power products. Researches, develops, designs, and tests the structural, mechanical, electrical, and ancillary system requirements for Caterpillar engine powered rental/sales packages.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Use computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Bachelor's degree (M.E./M.E.T.) from four-year College or university; or six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in budgeting and cost/revenue projections.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Auto Cad, Inventor, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn other business systems.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
