Night Shift Lab Technician

Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated, dynamic and experienced individual to perform as a Lab Technician on the night shift.

Job Duties



  • This position is currently on 2nd shift but will vary depending on the receiving schedule and other needs of the department.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly testing of mile; (Component testing of patron samples, Antibiotic testing, Somatic cell counts, Freeze point, Patron state official testing.)
  • Daily maintenance and preparation of stock and working chemicals.
  • Accurate documentation of test results and other associate paperwork. Electronic data entry and phoning of test results as necessary.
  • Learn and perform Cheese lab duties (Moisture, Fat, Salt, pH, Food scan) and assist when needed.
  • Basic Micro testing (Coliform, SPC, Y&M.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Other requirements



  • Excellent arithmetic and reading skills generally acquired by a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Must successfully complete annual Split Sample Test and On-site Evaluation every 2 years for certification.
  • Familiar with safe handling of chemicals and reagents.


Physical capabilities



  • Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, and other quality guidelines
  • Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
