Summary of role:
We seek a collaborative and results-driven market access leader to play a critical role in facilitating patient access to innovative therapies and diagnostics and realizing the full value of Lantheus' portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and marketing and account teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness in achieving business objectives. The successful candidate must possess strong strategic and analytic skills as well as creativity to imagine new possibilities.
The Director of Market Access Strategy will be responsible for developing insights, strategies, tactics and budgets, executing strategies and assisting with internal training to maximize business potential.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Essential Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Market Access Strategy, the Director of Market Access Strategy will have primary responsibility to:
- Assist with development/alignment on the market access strategy for new therapeutic and diagnostic products with a focus on the US market.
- Develop and communicate robust market access strategies and plans, including development and clear articulation of the brands' value story, and help to integrate them into the overall brand plan.
- Assist in recognizing key trends in pharmaceutical industry pricing, reimbursement, and market access, and develop proactive strategies in anticipation of these trends.
- Help inform brand strategies with payer/market insights
- Support Payer & Market Access Field Team leader and their team members to develop recommendations for appropriate programs, tools, and communication materials to effectively
- address payers' needs to render informed coverage decisions, as well as an overall approach to therapeutic class management.
- Work closely with finance, analytics, and patient services teams to identify and address product barriers to payer access and performance by applying an advanced understanding of strategies and payer analytics.
- Influence and inform Phase II - III development strategy based on the needs of payer and other channel customers.
- Track and ensure organizational understanding of key US policy changes affecting portfolio and competition; incorporate anticipated impact into strategy recommendations.
- Manage market access budget and develop metrics to measure ROI against key initiatives
- Identify evidence generation opportunities to differentiate products and accelerate uptake

Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- BS/BA required, MS or MBA preferred
- 10+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry and 5+ years in a market access role in positions of increasing responsibility; additional functional experiences of interest include marketing, new product planning and market research
- Strong background in US Market Access including major reimbursement modalities, contracting and solid understanding of the US healthcare market dynamics and trends
- Market Access launch experience in competitive markets
- Fluency in practice economics and billing/coding practices
- Demonstrated managed markets/customer segment knowledge, inclusive of all major payer and commercial channels
- Understanding of the applicable legal and regulatory environment.
- Results-oriented leader with ability to work in dynamic environment with changing and multiple priorities, practical problem solver and strong prioritization skills.
- Innovative, capacity to think through enterprise lens and forward thinker with good grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, and the regulatory environment.
- Strong collaborator and change agent with demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders to support decision making processes.
Preferred experiences include:
- Experience in Oncology, including prostate cancer, and Neurology.
- Clinical and/or technical discipline knowledge (e.g., radiopharmaceuticals, theranostics, treatment paradigms, and future trends).
- Experience in product launches and pricing and reimbursement process in non-US markets.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- This position is site-based and requires a presence on-site three days per week.
