Description

The Rehabilitation Assistant will be responsible to assist licensed physical and occupational therapists in specified areas of patient care and patient transportation. Also, will be responsible to maintain equipment and treatment areas. Rehabilitation Assistant for Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy department.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED HS diploma, GED or equivalent (Required)

Functional Accountabilities
Clinical Support



  • Provide assistance to the physical and occupational therapists during outpatient evaluations and treatments.
  • Provide crutchwalking practice under the supervision of a PT.
  • Assist with the fabrication of adaptive equipment and splints including casts, DAFOs, aquaplast splints and face masks.
  • Transport patients to therapy department in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.


    Operational Support



    • Prepare treatment areas for patient care by cleaning mats, and set up equipment.


    • Clean all equipment and hydrotherapy tanks after patient usage per department policy.


    • Maintain established levels of supplies including linens, crutches and small medical supplies.


    • Maintain adequate supply of PT/OT office supplies.


    • Assist with inventory of equipment and supplies, including equipment tracker.


    Administrative



    • Complete paycard, schedule and billing in an accurate and timely manner.


    • Complete all assignments and provide appropriate departmental operational input as requested.


    Safety/Risk Management



    • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a manner conducive to efficiency and safety.


    • Adhere to all safety and isolation patient care policies.
