Operations Department

The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health and wellbeing of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, customer service and performance of all data modules at each campus. The teams are staffed 24 x 7 on site with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) on each shift. These teams are the face of Vantage to our customers and the first line of defense regarding the uptime of our campus as well as the general health of our customer installations. Using a Critical Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track needed work, each campus Site Operations department manages all preventative and corrective maintenance on-site for our campuses located throughout North America. Our culture expects and rewards operations teams that engage directly with the customers and the facility infrastructure. These teams do most of the work themselves versus calling out constantly to vendors. As a result, we provide superior service that is faster and more cost effective. We prove that service through transparent reporting on all key performance metrics giving the customers the ability to focus on their operations without having to manage the performance of the facilities.

Position overview

This role can be based in either of these US locations: Denver, CO or Atlanta, GA, and is in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Manager of Standards and Transformation for our Business Intelligence team, which focuses on crafting processes and reporting for various teams within North American Operations! This leadership role involves supervising the development and management of sophisticated data processes and storage solutions to enhance business analytics and streamline operations. The Manager will ensure the effective ingestion, storage, and retrieval of data across systems to support decision-making and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include aligning our data architecture with business objectives, improving data accessibility and reliability, and spearheading initiatives in data governance and quality. The Manager will work closely with partners across the organization to ensure that our data strategies enhance business analytics and support scalable solutions. This role also involves advocating for best practices in data management, protecting data integrity and security, and driving continuous improvements in our business intelligence landscape. This position requires a solid foundation in data engineering principles and a commitment to leadership in redefining data-driven strategies and operations.

Essential job functions & duties

  • Design and implement strategic data initiatives that align with organizational goals and improve operational efficiency.

  • Be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of data processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data handling across various teams.

  • Ensure the data architecture supports both current and future business needs, facilitating easy access and robust data analytics capabilities.

  • Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure the BI team's outputs meet these requirements effectively.

  • Develop comprehensive reporting systems and analytics tools that enable detailed insights and support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

  • Continuously assess and improve data processes and workflows to refine operations, minimize errors, and elevate data quality.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

  • Establish and enforce data governance standards and practices to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies related to data security and privacy.

  • Implement systems and controls to maintain high data quality and integrity, ensuring that the data is reliable and valid for business use.

  • Drive innovation in data management and analytics by researching and implementing new technologies and methodologies that can enhance business intelligence capabilities.

  • Manage the budget for the Business Intelligence team, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Business Intelligence team to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree in these fields is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or a related field, with at least 4 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • PMP Certification Required

  • ITIL Certification Required

  • CSM Certification Required

  • Demonstrable understanding of product development methodologies like Agile/Waterfall.

  • Smart Core App Certification highly desired

  • At least three years' experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiative;

  • Significant experience with BI tools and programming languages ex Power BI, python, PySpark.

  • Understanding of Azure Data services.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Must be highly effective within a collaborative environment

  • Proficiency in preparing and presenting reports and data-driven insights to senior management.

  • Must be able to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities based on the ability to capture, organize, and analyze information. Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization

  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment

  • Must effectively prioritize work/projects and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Limited travel is expected

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $140,000- $150,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
