Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Shreveport seek candidates for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to serve as a faculty member in the Division of Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery as part of our Department of Surgery. The Division of Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery is led by Terry C. Lairmore, MD, and R. Keith White, MD, chairs the Department of Surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in general surgery, have completed a surgical oncology fellowship, and be eligible for Louisiana licensure.

The Division of Surgical Oncology:

  • Work in a tertiary care hospital serving an urban and rural population of approximately 2.5 million, encompassing 25,000 square miles in Louisiana, East Texas, and Southwestern Arkansas.
  • The emphasis of this recruitment is for a "general surgical oncologist" though the opportunity will be provided to develop a disease-specific focus including possible areas of interest such as gastrointestinal tumors, cutaneous malignancies, soft tissue sarcoma, and peritoneal surface malignancies. Robotic experience is optimal.
  • Academic practice involving patient care, resident, and medical student education, and clinical and/or basic science research. Active generation of scholarly activity is highly encouraged and expected as a member of the Division and Department of Surgery.
  • Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians at the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center (FWCC), a designated Center for Excellence in Cancer Research, Treatment, and Education, to provide comprehensive patient care.
