Job Title: Receiving Inspector
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Receiving Inspector on first shift. The LA facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. This person would report to the Quality Supervisor Inspection or designated authority. Responsible for performing in-process and/or incoming dimensional and visual inspections of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and mechanical component parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Inspects (Incoming and/or in-process) aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and supplier/customer requirements. Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plan. 2. Responsible for review and acceptance of paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product. 3. Responsible to produce necessary manual or computer-generated inspection reports to accept or reject products. 4. Inspection involves using precision measurement equipment such as, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread plugs, thread ring gages, thread gages, surface plates, spring tester, optical comparator, surface plate, and basic CMM (Zeiss). 5. Completes data processing move transactions as required. 6. Possesses understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements per ASME Y14.5. 7. Possesses basic knowledge of AQL sampling selection per internal procedures or ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 or as directed by customers. 8. Possesses basic knowledge of first article inspection reports per AS9102. 9. Computer Skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), internet, etc Basic Qualifications:

Position Criteria Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to read and write English. Ability to work from written and verbal instructions. Computer proficiency. Computer Skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), internet, etc. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Knowledge or experience inspecting various types of materials (e.g., aluminum, alloy, titanium, stainless steel, etc.). 2. Knowledge or experience inspecting aerospace products with coatings (e.g., anodizing, cadmium plating, chromium plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, passivation, etc.). 3. College or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification a plus. 4. Experience working in FAA environment. 5. Basic knowledge of DFAR and Nadcap requirements. #ZR |
