Job Overview

Lindner Center of HOPE is a nationally renowned psychiatric center of excellence located in Mason, Ohio, committed to providing state of the art care to patients at all levels of care. We continue to expand our services and are looking for multiple 100% Telehealth Outpatient Therapists to join our team. Our Telehealth Outpatient Therapist team is comprised of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), Licensed Independent Social Workers (LISW), and Independent Marriage & Family Therapists (IMFT). In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with other very talented psychiatrists and health care professionals in a variety of psychiatric specialties. We have the largest medical staff of any freestanding psychiatric hospital, allowing you to have access to many professional resources. LCOH is part of the UC Health network, and also has affiliations with Cincinnati Children's Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.

The Telehealth Outpatient Therapist will conduct psychosocial assessments, and provide individual, group and/or family therapy via Telehealth. The Outpatient Therapist will work with Lindner Center of HOPE psychologists, advanced practice nurses and psychiatrists to meet the needs of patients and their families. While the majority of patient care will be conducted via Telehealth, this position will be required to report on site for patient care and other business needs on an occasional basis.

Essential Functions

  • Perform psychosocial assessments for patients and/or families.
  • Formulate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate Lindner Center of HOPE (LCOH) social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and other treatment team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of external resources for patient needs.
  • Perform all required patient care documentation accurately, legibly, and within expected time. Documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the professions and departments' documentation standards. Oral reporting is clear, concise, relevant, and timely.
  • Liaison with community agencies; participate in area activities related to mental health.
  • Maintain current licensure and participate in continuing education to maintain competency in area of practice.
  • Participate in departmental and LCOH quality improvement efforts; ensure peer review standards are met.
  • Participate in community education and outreach.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Master's Degree:



  • For LPCC: Degree must be from a clinical mental health counseling program, clinical rehabilitation counseling program, or addiction counseling program accredited by the council for accreditation of counseling and related educational programs "CACREP."
  • For LISW: Degree must be in social work from a CSWE accredited program.
  • For IMFT: Degree must be from a program identified as marriage and family therapy (also referred to as "MFT").

Required Trainings/Certifications

  • For LPCC: State of Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • For LISW: State of Ohio Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
  • For IMFT: State of Ohio Independent Family and Marriage Therapist (IMFT).

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Doctorate Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervision designation (LISW-S).
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S).
  • Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist with supervision designation (IMFT-S).
  • At least 5 years' experience working as a therapist in an outpatient setting working with relevant patient population;
  • Knowledge of Assessment and Counseling practices and principles. Experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is ideal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and work with others to insure the best clinical outcome for patients and families.
  • Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision, and values.
