Under the general direction of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for independent coordination of evaluation and continuous quality improvement projects, daily management decisions, internal and external consultation, and providing research and evaluation knowledge to projects and education of staff. As the evaluation expert for CPE-Human Services, this position focuses on expertise in the design, execution, analysis, and evaluation of Human Services academic projects within the field of developmental disabilities, public assistance, child welfare, public assistance, and adult learning application. This includes supporting longitudinal studies, developing surveys, designing knowledge-based tools to assess adult learning, and directly supporting continuous quality assessment projects with contracting agencies through stakeholder engagement, focus groups, data analysis and report development. This role is an expert and manager of technical leaders in the space of Research and Evaluation, overseeing a small team with a substantial amount of independence and working closely or jointly with a variety of partners across the division, campus and the state.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- Minimum 2 years' experience in evaluation and research methodology, theory and practice. Experience in managing and analyzing large data sets in the area of developmental disabilities, child welfare or other related human services field
- Experience in developing evaluation methodologies for a variety of programs and data sets
- Experience in research and evaluation methodology related to human services program implementation and outcomes
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience to manage a team or research project. Ability to lead others and facilitate stakeholder engagement in planning and implementation efforts
- Expertise in evaluating the application of adult learning methodologies
- Ability to report and present on data outcomes to non-academia stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- Experience working in the fields of developmental disabilities, child welfare or other human services field
- Experience working with diverse groups of stakeholders, including federal and state legislators, funders, representatives from populations served, consultants and colleagues
- Knowledge and experience with data visualization

Human Services, a department of Continuing and Professional Education, provides continuing education programs and public service to adults throughout California. On a yearly basis, Human Services coordinates over 2,000 classes and trains more than 40,000 students. Human Services supports more than $40M in contracts annually with the State of California, counties and community-based organizations, including the California Department of Social Services, Department of Developmental Services, and nearly all counties in the state. Contracted duties include providing training, technical assistance, and other workforce development services, as well as research and evaluation support, including human services agency continuous quality improvement processes.
