Organizational Unit Overview |
Housed within the College of Engineering and Technology, Technology Systems offers five undergraduate degrees, three masters' degrees, three graduate professional certificates, and participates in a consortium-based PhD program. The department has 32 full-time faculty members and employs an average of 15 part time instructors each semester to serve approximately 1400 students. |
Job Duties |
The College of Engineering and Technology seeks a 9-month teaching instructor or teaching assistant professor starting fall semester 2025 to teach, advise, and provide service in the Department of Technology Systems with a focus in cybersecurity, including cyberinfrastructure security, ethical hacking and penetration testing, intrusion detection/prevention systems, cybersecurity automation and programming, digital forensics, etc. Faculty members are expected to provide leadership in developing, teaching, and maintaining curriculum using both traditional and distance delivery methods. In addition to teaching, advising, and providing service, active engagement in outreach to industry is required. Additionally, providing service to the university, community, and profession is expected. |
Minimum Education/Experience |
Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an area closely related to the technology disciplines in the department is required as Teaching Instructor.
A PhD degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an area closely related to the technology disciplines in the department is required as Teaching Assistant Professor.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions. Appointed title will be commensurate with education and experience. |

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
Industry experience in cybersecurity or experience teaching cybersecurity courses at the university or college level is preferred. Experience in cybersecurity posture assessment, security configuration, and cyberattack mitigation for information systems, networks, and hosts, cyber forensics and emerging areas such as AI deployment in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure cybersecurity, or cybersecurity in advanced manufacturing; and industry certifications such as
CCNA/
CCNP,
CCNA-Security,
RHCE,
CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, Cloud Security, etc. |
