Cost Accounting Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our growing team.This role will involve overseeing cost accounting functions, managing manufacturing costs, and playing a key role in the implementation of a new material and work-in-progress (WIP) process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, with a focus on manufacturing and pharmaceutical operations. Strong expertise in Excel, SAP knowledge, and process improvement experience are a plus. The Cost Accounting Manager will be instrumental in streamlining current accounting practices and driving efficiency improvements across our cost tracking and reporting systems. Key Responsibilities:
Material/WIP Process Implementation:
Lead the implementation of a new material/WIP process to enhance accuracy and efficiency in tracking inventory, production costs, and work-in-progress.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of the new process into existing workflows.Continuously identify and propose process improvements to streamline cost tracking and reporting.Process Improvement & Integration:
Evaluate current cost accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, automation, and integration to reduce inefficiencies.Support integration of accounting systems with manufacturing and inventory management systems to optimize data flow and reporting accuracy.Drive process improvements that enhance the overall efficiency of the cost accounting function.Excel and Data Tracking:
Manage and analyze complex data sets in Excel; strong proficiency in Excel is required.Identify opportunities to transition manual tracking methods into more streamlined, systemized solutions.Utilize advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, and data visualization tools to track costs, variances, and other key metrics.Attention to Detail:
Ensure that all cost accounting data is accurately recorded, tracked, and reconciled, with an emphasis on detail and precision.Review and validate cost structures and reports, ensuring consistency and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.Perform regular audits of cost data to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
Experience:
At least 7+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.Demonstrated experience in cost analysis, inventory control, and manufacturing accounting processes.SAP experience is a plus.Prior experience with process improvements or system integrations in a cost accounting environment is highly desirable.Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies.Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.Personal Attributes:

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
