What You Will Do:

Our Industrial Refrigeration Pressure Vessel engineering group has an immediate opening for a full-time, direct hire, degreed engineer.

Responsibilities include applying engineering principles to develop new products, maintain existing products, and process sales orders for FRICK branded pressure vessels and heat exchangers used by the food and beverage industry. Additional responsibilities include sizing and design of pressure vessels, cost analysis, and automation improvements. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

How You Will Do It:

You will be joining a team of engineers and designers who work together and independently to meet company goals. Work will be completed individually and with the help of others. The individual will interface with sales, purchasing, other engineering groups, and manufacturing to analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and drawings to resolve customer's design intent and ensure the safe operation of pressure vessels per ASME Code. This will require a fundamental understanding of the refrigeration cycle and thermodynamics. This role will maintain existing product lines and support new product development.

In your assignments you will use commercially available CAD and engineering software along with in-house engineering configuration tools. We will provide support and training for you to be successful in this role.

  • Review/Annotate Pressure Vessel CAD Drawings for ASME Code Compliance and ensure design's safety, function, and manufacturability.

  • Simplify CAD Design work and engineering processes through thoughtful programming, configuration, or similar approaches.

  • Provide technical guidance to Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, Customers, Marketing, and Operations.

  • Resolve shop and end user issues including improvements in design and fabrication.

  • Independently read and interpret schematics and drawings.

  • Awareness of applicable national and international codes and ability to interpret and seek experts when necessary.

  • Value Added / Valued Engineered and workflow optimization.

  • Apply computer knowledge to automate and streamline workflows.

  • Travel to acquire training within the industry and occasional travel to resolve supplier and customer issues (travel is minimal).

What We Look For:

Required:

  • *Bachelors (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 2 to 5 years' experience, including internships

  • 3D solids design experience

  • Fluent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Mechanically inclined and ability to visualize how parts fit together

Preferred:

  • Experience with thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle

  • Desire to work on an international team

  • Programming engineering processes or CAD automation experience

  • Experience creating 3D CAD models and 2D Drawings using Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and/or REVIT

  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment

  • Experience or proficiency with the following:

o C# / Python / VBA

o Git

o SAP / ERP Software

o COMPRESS
