Position Summary: As the Lead School Behavioral Assistant at The Tides School, you will serve as a key leader responsible for assisting in the management of school operations and fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. Reporting to the school leadership team, you will collaborate on daily planning, behavior management, student support, and communication with families. Your role will also involve supporting the Dean and teachers in implementing systems to maximize pro-social behavior, and driving safety and oversight of student behavior. Essential Functions:
- Assist with all The Tides School operations of daily planning, problem solving, caregiver relationships, and behavioral based district interactions.
- Collaborate with the school team on a school-wide system that maximizes pro-social and academic behavior.
- Drive safety and oversight of student behavior.
- In collaboration with the school team, help support positive school culture.
- Collaborate with the school team on classroom management and leadership techniques, relationship building with students, behavior interventions, and school safety.
- Be the main point person to help assist students referred out of class for unsafe or disruptive behavior and provide them with a safe space to de-escalate, refocus, and reintegrate as quickly as possible.
- Model, train, and encourage students to utilize replacement behaviors.
- Manage student behavior and incidents entering the school, buses and after school program vans.
- Support school expectations for professionalism and fulfill required responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.
- Engage in ensuring communications and transparency with students, families, and colleagues through participation in weekly team operation meetings, rundowns and/or other platforms to ensure school operations.
- Work collaboratively with integrated teams of teachers and clinicians to develop and document in the electronic health record system (ECHO) recovery goals, provide resources, advocacy, perform routine assessments and build relationships with clients and families.
- Assist in developing and coordinating IEP goals and progress notes in collaboration with the school clinician as well as participate in IEP meetings when deemed necessary.
- Attend all required professional development and safety trainings and briefings to ensure the safety and development of all students and staff.

- All other duties as assigned in accordance with the mission of Tides Family Services.
Requirements
- Experience in an academic setting of K-12, charter, other non-traditional schools, or social service setting- Preferred
- Bachelor's degree - Required or: 5 Years experience in behavior management or behavioral health setting.
- Valid driver's license and registered/inspected/ insured vehicle - Required.
- Bilingual; English, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole - Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A demonstrated solid track record of innovative experience in academics driving, and engaging trauma informed services and to ensure a positive school culture that promotes academic and character growth.
- Capacity for leadership and vision to maintain a safe and inclusive educational community for students and faculty.
- Use crisis and trauma counseling tools and other services to help ensure client and family safety.
- Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges.
- Knowledge of positive behavior intervention strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, staff, and families.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and respond effectively to crises.
- The ability to remain calm and understanding in challenging situations.
Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform essential duties.
