Organizational Unit Overview
Academic Affairs ("AA") is headed by the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs who serves as the institution's Chief Academic Officer ("CAO") and is responsible for administering academic policies. AA is comprised of each of the university's colleges, schools, and libraries, along with other academic support and administrative units, to include Learner Operations, Research, Innovation and Engagement, Institutional Planning, Assessment and Research, and Global Affairs. Academic Affairs works collaboratively to strengthen ECU's culture of academic excellence in line with our mission to be a national model for student success, public service, and regional transformation.
Office of the Registrar
The primary purpose of the Office of the Registrar is to assist students with academic progress to meet their education goals, maintaining accurate, permanent, confidential records, and administering University policy and procedures. Through an emphasis on teamwork, problem solving, and planning, the Office of the Registrar's staff will provide courteous and timely service to our constituents. The Office of the Registrar continually automates processes and refines services to support University enrollment goals, registration, grading, graduation, and other academic services needed by current and former students.
Flight Path
Flight Path is a nonprofit ed-tech startup partnering with UNC System universities to serve adult learners. The position will work with adult students registering with ECU through Flight Path. This position will meet goals established by the joint efforts of ECU and Flight path through assistance with onboarding processes for these students.
Job Duties
Degree Pathway Coordinator will serve as the primary credit evaluator. This credit evaluation will serve two purposes: first, to ensure that as much of a student's existing credits transfers as direct credit for the degree and, second, to map out a plan of study with accompanying timeline for the student for degree completion. The former will require the DPC to work with the registrar's office and academic program faculty to ensure direct credit is appropriately awarded in a timely manner. The latter will require that the DPC work with the student coaches to determine student needs and build a plan of study that is sensitive to the students desired completion timeline. A final role of the DPC will be to serve in tandem with the Flight Path student coaches as a care team around students in an assigned program. The DPC will serve as a secondary support contact for students during high volume time periods (registration, etc.) to answer questions, escalate issues, and triage problems on behalf of the student. They will meet regularly with the overall SCT and will have regular standing meetings with the Flight Path student coaches in their SCT to ensure efficiency of process.

Credit Evaluation 40%:
The position will serve as the primary credit evaluator. The DPC role is critical in ensuring that
students receive maximum credit for their prior coursework, expediting their degree completion.

Personalized Study Plans 40%:
DPC will work with student coaches to create customized study plans, DPCs help ensure student
success coaches are given degree plan to help student manage their program requirements and
stay on track to meet their goals, whether that's accelerated completion or part-time flexibility.

Student Support 20%:
Acting as a secondary support contact during high-volume times (like registration) to ensure
students get timely responses, minimizing frustration and improving student satisfaction. This role
will also be a tier 2 level support and answer student questions that require deep institutional
knowledge and program expertise that go beyond the student coach's area of expertise. DPCs may
help register or make schedule adjustments as appropriate and in coordination with the needs
established by the full Student Care Team, particularly during high volume registration periods.

This position is contingent upon available funding.
Minimum Education/Experience
The minimum requirement for this position is graduation from a four-year college or university.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience working with transfer and adult learner populations; knowledge of the North Carolina Community College system; expansive/expert knowledge of transfer evaluation and articulation are preferred. Familiarity with data management and reporting tools is also preferred
