Bidding Restriction: 1 Year

Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

Supports basic operations of trading risk control functions, including trade confirmation and compliance. Interfaces with internal and external constituents on trade validation questions and discrepancies. Works with internal and external system support teams to solve technical issues and to enhance business process solutions. Span of control: 0; individual contributor.

Key Accountabilities

* Participates in managing administrative aspects of trade confirmation and compliance functions for the organization's non-regulated companies
* Collaborates with traders, deal entry, contract administrators, brokers, and counterparties to review and ensure the completeness and accuracy of trade confirmations
* Works with trading system support teams to resolve system errors and defects and to enhance business processes
* Timely and accurately identifies and reports Commodity Futures Trading Commission designated swap transactions
* Learns confirmation related aspects of energy contracts, including International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), to assist with managing the trade confirmation process
* Utilizes continuous improvement methodologies and techniques to improve quality, delivery and efficiency of assigned work and processes
* Researches issues and understands the trade confirmation and control needs for new products and markets
* Maintains appropriate risk management procedures, systems, models, and processes
* Maintains confirmation process adherence with company policies and procedures

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options:

  • High School diploma and 4 years of administrative-related experience in financial services, commodity trading, and/or brokerage services
  • Associate degree and 2 years of administrative-related experience in financial services, commodity trading, and/or brokerage services
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college and 6 months of administrative-related experience in financial services, commodity trading, and/or brokerage services
Other Qualifications

Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a business-related discipline
* Experience in administration of risk management/trade confirmation and control functions

Other Requirements:
* Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and database managers
* Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the Corporation, especially with traders, trading support staff and outside counterparties
* Analytical and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations
* Knowledge of risk management
* Reliable and willing to accept responsibility for assigned tasks
* Knowledge of general commercial transactions, business, and accounting
* Dedication to complete daily reporting requirements
