Overview
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting our business development initiatives through various channels including inside client outreach, marketing, event planning, project management and data analysis. This position supports the daily workflow of the department and provides superior customer service to internal and external customers, with a focus on building customer relationships and partnerships. Travels on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
Will collaboratively drive lead generation and provide information to the sales teams of client outreach resulting in qualified leads.
- Actively listen to customer needs and recommend additional products and services through review of the case and claim needs.
- Continuously analyzes the market and identifies problematic areas, conducting research and developing strategies to adapt to changing conditions.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales management to increase company's presence.
- Responsible for the management of the company's national client database and ensures accurate and updated information is maintained. Input, maintain, and manage customer information in both the operating system and client information system.
- Regularly prepares accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual client reports.
- Generates national marketing and sales reports as required.
- Responsible to develop ad hoc and/or customized client reports as required.
- Assists in resolving client concerns relative to report content or quality issues in a timely manner.
- Evaluates the results of overall reporting efforts regularly and communicates these results, or any report issues or concerns to senior leaders.
- Work collectively with the sales team to strengthen customer relationships and to aid in meeting monthly revenue goals.
- Lead conference and event preparation and attend all sales and marketing meetings as directed; travel as required for the position.
- Assist with sales projects and initiatives.
- Maintain full understanding of all services and the ability to articulate this to clients.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Bachelor degree in business or marketing preferred and five years related experience. Strong knowledge of claims management relative to workers' compensation, no-fault, liability, and disability is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess five years of related experience in customer service, marketing or inside sales; strong phone skills.
- Must be proficient in CRM software for efficient client management, sales tracking, and forecasting. Must have strong analytical skills to effectively interpret market trends and identify business opportunities. Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel for creating compelling presentations, running reports, and analyzing sales data.
- Must have adequate knowledge of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet; including social media platforms.
- Must have exceptional communication skills for effective presentations and diverse audience engagement, as well as conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
- Must be able to adequately operate a general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
- Ability to travel as required for the position and must be able to divide work requirements with the potential of spending up to 10% of time with local travel and 90% office.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to upper managements' directions accurately.
- Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
- Uses intuition and experience to effectively market the company's services.
- Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and develop alternative solutions when dealing with client issues or emotional topics.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
