Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the development and execution of Department of Defense (DoD) research programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex efforts, leading technical teams, fostering customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with government requirements. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of DoD research and development programs/projects, ensuring alignment with specified objectives and government standards.
  • Analyze risks, challenges, and results, providing clear and actionable recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Government customers to evaluate their research business practices and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Direct and manage personnel, budgets, schedules and resources to ensure successful project execution.
  • Work closely with the Government and technical leads to capture timelines, track deliverable status, and adapt methodologies as needed to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and communicate strategic plans, balancing priorities and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure all managed programs comply with government reporting requirements and adhere to applicable policies and regulations while maintaining control over program artifacts and products

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7 in Business Administration or a technical degree (e.g Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering or equivalent) with a min of 10 years' experience.
  • Five + years experience in the management of Department of Defense (DoD) research program development.
  • 10 years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional technical projects or programs, with a demonstrated ability to manage personnel, budgets, schedules and balance priorities
  • Experience in researching, assessing and hiring personnel for specific and often unique qualifications
  • Experience leading technical teams and motivating diverse groups of professionals
  • Ability to select personnel according to knowledge and experience is areas with which the program is concerned.
  • Proven ability to prepare program business analytics for presentation to customers.
  • Must have a current/and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile certifications (like SAFe or PMI-ACP) for Agile-oriented environments.
  • Program Management certifications like PgMP (Program Management Professional).
  • Industry-specific certifications (e.g., ITIL for IT-related roles)

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
