The Charlotte FC Academy vision is to provide a high-performance environment for the most talented, high-potential young soccer players from across the Carolinas and across the country. Position Summary
The Lead of Academy Goalkeeping is responsible for establishing and leading an elite Academy goalkeeping program, developing the top youth goalkeeping prospects within the Charlotte FC Academy. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of goalkeeper development, a proven ability to mentor young athletes, and the expertise to implement a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to the evolving needs of Academy goalkeepers from U14 to U18. The successful candidate will be a key figure in shaping the Academy's goalkeeping philosophy, fostering a high-performance environment, and preparing goalkeepers for the demands of professional soccer. Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to collaborate across the Academy and first-team staff are essential to ensure a seamless developmental pathway.
Primary Responsibilities
* Direct and manage the Academy's goalkeeping coaches, with responsibility for the implementation and development of the CLTFC soccer methodology for all goalkeepers. Ensure that CLTFC style of play is integrated into the training sessions and match schedule.
* Develop, implement, and oversee the club's goalkeeping curriculum, methodology, and philosophy in alignment with the Academy, Crown Legacy, and First Team staff to ensure a cohesive developmental pathway.
* Collaborate and work closely with Academy staff to plan and implement a coordinated approach for goalkeepers and player development as players move through the clubs Pro-Pathway
* Work collaboratively with other key stakeholders internally to ensure holistic approach to development is executed to current players within the club's system. Maximize player recruitment by creating open dialogue regarding potential targets or academy goalkeeper needs
* Establish contact with the recruitment department and the Academy director to consider player trajectories, player recruitment, and transitions for players within age groups.
* Establish contact with players' parents or guardians to discuss the player's progress, career and raise concerns when necessary. Provide support in the retention and release process as needed
* The coach may undertake additional duties at the request of the Academy Director and Head of Goalkeeping.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must pass pre-employment screens.
* Must have U.S. Work Authorization.
* US Soccer "B" or UEFA "B" License preferred.
* Worked within a professional youth development setting preferred.
* Valid US Driver's License.
* Availability to work in non-traditional settings, and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional setting and on-field training environment. Must be comfortable with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word and other platforms. Local travel to events will be required.
* Must be able to work in all Charlotte FC Academy matches, home and away, including on occasion internationally.
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
* Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
* Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
* Ability to climb stairs.
* Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
* Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
