Position Summary

To work as a social service, you must be able to with the public. Be able to understand and follow instructions in a matter of time. Be able to take directions and to work with little supervision. Have good computer skills, attendance and punctual to report to work. Have a positive attitude and good customer service.

Essential Functions



  • Input clients in the Well Sky program
  • Client's intake
  • Donation slips
  • Assist Clients /Sign ups
  • Answer phone
  • Customer Service
  • Registration for food distribution
  • Assist in seasonal programs
  • Assistance for especial event
  • Help with Volunteer Applications/ Processing
  • Prepare food Boxes
  • Distribute food distribution
  • Help clean the office or facility (if needed)
  • Help load or unload the donations (if needed)
  • All other duties as assigned by the Corp Officer or Assistant Administrator


Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED (preference)
  • Ability to engage and diffuse crisis situations.
  • Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals and other personnel from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities



  • If working in the vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Salvation Army policies, procedures and programs, as well as compassionate understanding and adherence
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
