LOCATION: Albuquerque Citadel & Temple

STATUS: FT 40hrs/wk (Flex schedule to accommodate program needs)

QUALIFICATIONS



  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Salvation Army soldier in good standing strongly preferred
  • Understanding & adherence to The Salvation Army doctrine is essential
  • Mature in Christian faith
  • Self-starter who demonstrates excellent teamwork and who is detail oriented.
  • Valid NM driver's license, and able to drive a 15-passenger bus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with young people
  • Skills in using general office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write and speak in English and Spanish
  • Must learn, pass, teach, & maintain Protect the Mission policies and protocols
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coordinate youth activities & programs (including outreach, teen nights, field trips, special events, troops and assemblies)
  • Co-operate and help to plan and execute VBS, Day Camp, and any other youth events that are prescribed (including the organizing and decorating of the Corps according to the theme)
  • Utilize both Citadel and Temple worship space for best function and divide time with approximately 60% for Temple and 40% to Citadel.
  • Prepare materials for class and maintain records for each class
  • Maintain and update contact information, for students and volunteers, including ensuring appropriate background checks and PTM training are completed, and records kept
  • Organize and prepare enrolment ceremonies of Junior Soldiers
  • Organize the volunteers and teachers, including their training
  • Prepare and submit reports to DHQ
  • Give solid Biblical advice to children, teenagers and young adults
  • Clean and organize youth areas
  • Advertise each program in neighborhood areas


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information
