Maintenance Engineer needed for a Contract role in Tempe, AZ Job Description: Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Overall Summary Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment. Nature of Supervision Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required. Communication & Influence Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency. Innovation & Complexity Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities. Education & Experience Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience Must have skills: HS Diploma or GED, 6 years experience with maintenance Ability, to work, with small fragile parts and follow work instructions consistently and make operation entries on computer terminals. Keeping work area orderly and clean. Notify Production Supervisor, if a defect is identified, to obtain guidance and assistance, in resolving the problem. Adherence to clients policies and procedures including EH&S, ESD, FOD, Quality, OSHA, MSDS and housekeeping. Basic computer proficiency, with working knowledge, of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) preferred. Comfortable speaking in group/team settings; attention to detail. Able, to use basic hand tools and fixturing, use PPE appropriately, to the use, of chemicals and protection from other hazards is required. Ability, to follow written and verbal instructions, be able and willing, to work, in and promote a team environment.
