SVP & Chief Credit Officer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The SVP & Chief Credit Officer provides strategic leadership on the Executive Leadership Team, leads the Association's Credit, Lending Services and Appraisal departments, and monitors and guides complex and troubled loans and regulatory and compliance requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, ag business or related field and 10 years of lending experience, 5 years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Graduate degree or Banking School degree preferred. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of the agricultural industry, economic principles, farming practices, and agribusiness.

The ideal candidate must possess advanced knowledge of credit administration and portfolio management procedures. Must possess proficient knowledge of real estate and chattel secured lending, servicing procedures and loan processing. Experience in all aspects of agricultural lending, including agribusiness, capital markets, and multi-lender transactions preferred. Candidates should be well-versed at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create, update, and save various documents. Skilled in oral and written communication, sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences, including board of directors, customers, regulators, and auditors. The role involves supervising 4 to 6 direct reports and 8 to 20 indirect reports and 25-30% travel time is required.
