Responsibilities

Arcfield is looking for a Hardware Engineer who is considered an emerging authority, and who applies extensive technical expertise. The person will:

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems.
  • Analyzes equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design.
  • Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspectives.
  • Coordinates and consults with research engineers or scientists and customer representatives to resolve design problems. Develops and maintains technical procedures, documentation and manuals.
  • Compiles and analyzes operational data and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes.
  • May supervise the work of technicians and technologists who provide technical support.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with secure processing technology and have experience with the functionality of secure processing hardware components.
  • Must be capable of conducting research, design, and development of ASIC hardware components to improve performance, security, and usability of secure processors.
  • Must have knowledge of VHDL and VeriLog and experience with FPGA's for emulation.
  • Under general direction, design and develop equipment, processes and systems that involve data networks, communications, and display.
  • Must have and maintain a current/active SECRET clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of experience, or Master's degree with 6-8 years or PhD with 3-5 years.

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
