Responsibilities
The Network Engineer will support the instructors, students, and team management by providing technical support in the operations and maintenance of the learning technology training systems. Experience with Enterprise networks, Sponsor accreditation process and preparing documentation sufficient to gain approval of SSP's are a requirement for this position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with learning enterprise partners.
- Develop and document procedures to image and maintain Mac and PC products in the wireless and wired environment.
- Develop and maintain all software installed on Mac and PC devices.
- Maintain the current enterprise supported releases of software to Mac and PC devices as well as servers.
- Document Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) activities.
- Provide support to servers and desktop computers.
- Perform system support tasks.
- Work recommended new network technologies.
- Collaborate with the vendors.
- Tend to the day-to-day needs and maintenance of servers and desktops to include backup and restore procedures.
- Design and configure workstations and iPads as needed.
- Coordinate Microsoft and Apple support.
- Actively participate in internal and external meetings.
- Help the Sponsor create current state of the art platform and brief such to varying levels of management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with a master's degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD.
- Ability to provide Tier 1 support on technical and performance related issues.
- Ability to coordinate information flow between programs, organizational managers, and end users.
- Ability to establish functional and technical standards, solve hardware and software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem.
- Provides a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components.
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate strong people skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Ability to coordinate with engineers, system analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists, and top-level managers in the design, testing, and evaluation of systems.
