Job Description

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Shelbyville, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage and more .

As an Access Control Officer in the food and beverage industry, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your role involves conducting routine patrols and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will also provide exceptional customer service and communication, embodying our values of agility, reliability, and innovation. This position requires a valid driver's license as per AU Driver Policy Requirements and is suitable for individuals aged 21 and above. Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred, enhancing your ability to perform proficiently in this role.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time
Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

Responsibilities:

    Provide customer service by implementing access control procedures and adhering to site-specific policies.
  • Assist in responding to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions.
  • Engage in emergency response activities when appropriate, following established protocols.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors.
  • Communicate with team members and management to report any security-related incidents or concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help deter potential security-related incidents and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with AU Driver Policy Requirements.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
