What Your Job Will Be Like:

Do you want to help build the foundation of a new program, and assess impacts when things don't go as scheduled so that a plan of action is developed to get back on track? Do you forge strong relationships across a diverse set of partners and use great communication skills so they can understand the big picture? If so you may be the E&O Program Lead we're seeking to be the W93/Mk7 Hardware System Integration Lead.

This position will be crucial to the success of the W93/Mk7 program and heavy engagement with the National Nuclear Security Agency and Department of the Navy will occur. The successful candidate will chair the Hardware Mission Assurance Team (HW MAT) and using their technical knowledge of build and assembly operations to manage disconnects between the hardware supply and programmatic demands and elevate to the Federal level with a recommended path forward for adjudication, as appropriate. They will ensure the HW MAT members (SNL, LAN, Lockheed Martin) have a consistent approach to scoping and tracking hardware demand, have identified adequate resources to execute their scope, coordinate information exchange across the three design agents, and lead problem resolution efforts when a consensus approach cannot be reached. They will also plan and manage the initial build operations for the program which includes generating a floor schedule with material needs along with Work Planning and Controls.

On any given day, you may be called on to:



  • Chair the Hardware Mission Assurance Team.

  • C oordinate across three separate design agencies (SNL, LANL, and Lockheed Martin) to ensure hardware is delivered on schedule.

  • Coordinate with 2330 partners to ensure hardware readiness (MRS, 840 inventory, etc.).

  • Assess impacts for changes to the baseline delivery schedule at the NNSA/Navy level as part of the Mission Assurance Team so that the optimal path forward is identified.

  • Maintain readiness in 809 for initial build operations

  • Oversight of the provisioning process for hardware with DoD partners.

  • Strong partnering across the Nuclear Security Enterprise will be a crucial part of this role and will allow the successful candidate to grow their professional network and influence.

    Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM. Minimal travel is required for this position.



Salary Range:

$114,000 - $227,500

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:



  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline, plus (1) one year of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in stated field, plus (5) five years of experience; OR equivalent directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work for this position (in lieu of a degree).

  • Active DOE Q clearance (or DOD Top Secret clearance), with ability to participate, as requested, in random polygraph testing.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing a project and its execution including identifying scope, developing plans/schedules, personnel, and material resourcing, and monitoring the execution of work.



Qualifications We Desire:



  • Experience in hardware management.

  • Expertise with HAMRS/ARAS hardware management tool.

  • Experience with activity-level work and WP&C processes.

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, particularly technical writing, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, collaborative, team-focused environment.

  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of current Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) guidelines for the State of New Mexico and Sandia National Laboratories.



About Our Team:

The W93 Flight and System Enabling Technology Department is responsible for Flight Test planning and integration, System test asset builds, and the entire suite of logistics including the Integrated Surety Architecture. We directly engage across much of the Nuclear Security Enterprise including SNL/CA, LANL, PX, NNSA, LM, Navy, and KCNSC.

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
