UM Human Resources - Benefits Job Description
University of Missouri Human Resources provides leadership in the planning, integration, and implementation of human resource services and programs for faculty and staff across all campuses and the health system. Collectively with campus colleagues, we serve as a strategic and trusted advisor, and pursue continuous improvement through knowledge, collaboration, and leadership. This position supports the University of Missouri's human resources strategic priorities and initiatives and has key responsibilities for serving as the point of contact for UM System and University of Missouri Columbia (UMC) employees and retirees for benefit and retirement administration. This position serves as a member of the UM System HR Generalist team and may support other campuses or areas as needed. While serving in a HR Generalist role, the primary function of this position is dedicated to the education and administration of benefits and retirement plans. Responsibilities 25% Provide exemplary customer service and consulting, serving as subject matter expert to deliver employees, retirees, and prospective job candidates with accurate and timely information in matters related to retirement programs or benefit plans. 20% Deliver employee presentations, including new employee orientation and retirement planning education, to small and large groups to provide education on retirement and benefit offerings. 10% Serve as a member of the Office of Human Resources team dedicated to serving employees and understanding the needs of the organization through partnerships, collaborations and effective teams. 5% Other duties as assigned Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or finance and a minimum three years of relevant experience, with preference for benefit plan and/or retirement administration, customer service, medical claims processing, and other retirement or benefits related functions. Demonstrated success in establishing rapport and building effective relationships with diverse audiences of colleagues and customers. Demonstrated use of good judgement, analytical skills, and professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand UM's Health and Welfare and Retirement Plans and interpret impact to faculty, staff, and retirees. Familiarity with university systems (PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, etc.) and policies. Anticipated Hiring Range
