WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Independently perform high-complexity genotyping and associated tasks in a busy CLIA-licensed, AABB-accredited molecular testing laboratory responsible for patient and blood donor testing. Perform manual and automated DNA extraction and FDA-approved and lab-developed tests and perform testing utilizing platforms including arrays, real-time, mass spectrometry and Sanger sequencing. Interpret results and generate test reports. Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment and quality control of reagents. Train technical staff with less experience. Utilize laboratory information management system and web-based customer service request portal. Interact with other departments on matters concerning donor and patient testing and provide support to internal or external customers. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. Standard Schedule: 7am-3:30pm shift, on for the 10:30am - 7pm shift Pay Information: $27-37/hr WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. You must be able to stand for long periods of time, repeat the same movements, and use your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.This job requires the ability to hear and speak clearly. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise. The employee must be able to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet. This job may require the employee to be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. This position will require the ability to use the stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods of time and the ability to keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position. The employee must be able to frequently use oneor two hands to grasp, move or assemble objects.The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle andhave the ability tosit at a computer terminal for an extendedperiod of time.
