The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager for Radiation Oncology Information Systems. The Applications Analyst II is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of assigned clinical information system tasks and the management of small to medium projects and/or sub-projects. S/he will participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and on-going maintenance of new and existing clinical information systems. Work responsibilities include the support of Radiation Oncology specific software applications, information systems, integration, and hardware, providing direct customer support, working on complex project tasks, and managing projects as needed. The Applications Analyst II acts as a liaison between the Radiation Oncology Department, Mass General Brigham Digital staff, Dana-Farber Information Systems staff and external vendor partners to coordinate integration of computer systems within the Mass General Brigham network and ensure the compatibility of department systems within the network. The Radiation Oncology Information Systems team works solely to support the complex and technologically advanced Radiation Oncology Department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Boston Children's Hospital and associated outreach sites within the Mass General Brigham network. Additional Responsibilities Application and technical support include, but is not limited to: *Installing new programs and maintaining software upgrades. *Maintaining system dictionaries, user accounts and access rights. *Maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing interfaces between Radiation Oncology specific applications and other systems. *Collaborating with outside vendors for troubleshooting and technical issues. *Support for Radiation Oncology specific hardware (barcode printers, barcode scanners, digital cameras, scanners) Additional Qualifications *Experience working in technology within a healthcare setting (preferably in Radiology or Radiation Oncology) is a preferred *Experience with standards such as DICOM, DICOM RT and with reporting software such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Tableau is a plus. *Strong working knowledge of system integration and HL7 interface format is a preferred, Additional Working Conditions *Remote and office environment with travel between patient care areas and local outreach sites; limited patient contact. Office/on-site travel required as projects and support dictate. *On-call support as assigned (includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays). *As projects and priorities dictate, must be available to work non-standard hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Summary Responsible for providing, designing, developing, testing, implementing and ongoing maintenance of new and existing software applications. This role also provides training and support to end users. Essential Functions -Reviews system requirements and business processes; tests, debugs and implements software solutions. -Develops and executes test plans and performs other software quality assurance tasks. -Trains end users on the operation of software applications. Develops end user documentation. -Provides ongoing support of the software applications by identifying and resolving issues. -Runs reports, updates tables and performs other tasks associated with the ongoing operation of the software environment. -Participates in regular team meetings to discuss team activities, issues and updates.
