Athletics Job Description
The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), a member of the NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Head Women's Soccer Coach. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the women's soccer program, including recruitment, coaching, player development, academic support, and overall program administration. The Head Coach will be expected to foster a competitive team environment that promotes success both on the field and in the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership & Coaching: * Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the women's soccer program that aligns with the university's mission and athletic department goals. * Plan and execute effective team practices, game strategies, and skill development sessions to ensure competitive performance. * Evaluate and mentor student-athletes to enhance individual and team performance. Recruitment & Retention: * Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who demonstrate strong academic and athletic potential. * Build relationships with high school and club coaches to enhance the recruitment pipeline. * Maintain a focus on student-athlete retention and academic success, ensuring compliance with NCAA, GLVC, and institutional policies. Academic & Student-Athlete Development: * Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and collaborate with academic support services to ensure eligibility and degree completion. * Foster a culture of leadership, discipline, and personal development within the program. Compliance & Operations: * Ensure adherence to all NCAA Division II, GLVC, and university rules and regulations. * Manage team budgets, travel arrangements, and equipment needs in coordination with athletic administration. * Participate in fundraising, alumni engagement, and community service initiatives to support and promote the program. 40 hours a week; nights and weekends included. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Successful collegiate coaching experience of at least 3 years. Anticipated Hiring Range
$54,000-$65,000 Annual Application Materials
