Nokia's Implementation & Wi-Fi Licensing Projects team plays a vital role in patent licensing through collaboration with technical analysis, patenting, and WLAN R&D groups to ensure an attractive WLAN SEP patent licensing offer. As a Senior Patent Manager, you will oversee the technical analysis of the WLAN patent portfolio, provide strategic expertise, and engage in technical discussions during negotiations. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both small and large-scale patent licensing projects while gaining valuable insights into the intricacies of patent licensing. We are seeking a proactive and independent thinker with a strong background in patents and WLAN technologies, complemented by excellent presentation skills, who is eager to enhance our tools and improve our ways of working. - Lead and manage technical analysis part of the patent licensing projects, especially for standard essential WLAN patents.
- Support patent licensing in technical questions and questions about Nokia's WLAN portfolio.
- Provide feedback to Patenting and Patent Acquisition teams in WLAN matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially with the Implementation & Wi-Fi litigation projects team, to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
- Make sure that the information regarding the WLAN portfolio is correct in our databases in order to provide correct insights to enhance our licensing strategies.
You have:
- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, showcasing your advanced knowledge and expertise in core technical principles.
- Demonstrated experience with WLAN technologies or equivalent industry knowledge, including hands-on work with network protocols and WLAN standards, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to our projects from day one.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including licensees, technical teams, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring seamless collaboration and understanding.
It would be nice if you also had:
- A PhD in a relevant field, which signifies your authority on advanced topics within the technology sphere.
- A US or EP patent attorney degree, providing you with the legal insight required to navigate intellectual property challenges.
- Previous exposure to technical discussions as part of patent license negotiations, equipping you with the skills to engage with legal frameworks and effectively advocate for our WLAN SEP patent portfolio.
- Strong analytical skills, complemented by a passion for innovative and disruptive solutions, allowing you to think critically, solve complex problems, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of what's possible.
