Police Science Instructional Assistant

Providing instructional assistance in the Law Enforcement-Police Science department for both day and night programs.

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Instructional Assistant to support and teach within the Law Enforcement/Police Science department. This position requires an individual who is committed to educating future law enforcement professionals and can deliver high-quality instruction in alignment with Stark State College curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and assist in the delivery of courses within Law Enforcement/Police Science department as required.

• Provide instructional support to instructors and students during training sessions.

• Ensure all course materials are prepared and aligned with the academy's curriculum.

• Maintain an active role in the learning and development of students, providing feedback and guidance.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certification:

   • Must possess a current and valid OPOTA Peace Officer Basic Academy Instructor Certification.

   • OPOTA certification, including approved topics, must be submitted with the application.

2. Prior Teaching Experience:

   • Previous experience in instructional roles is preferred.

3. Valid Ohio Driver's License:

   • A current and valid Ohio driver's license is required and have a satisfactory MVR check as a part of the hiring process.

Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires.
