Job Summary:

The Tax Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, managing and driving process improvements and automation of tax processes, and providing strategic tax guidance to support the company's financial objectives. The role leads a team of tax unit managers and other professionals providing the team with direction and guidance on tax planning, compliance, and reporting. The Tax Accounting Manager develops and implements tax strategies aligned with the company's financial goals and analyzes tax implications of business decisions, identifies tax-saving opportunities, and provides recommendations to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of tax returns, tax audits and assessments ensuring adherence to tax laws, regulations, and deadlines
  • Ensures that any changes to tax laws and regulations are properly contemplated and provides guidance on the most complex technical aspects.
  • Provides expert advice to tax leadership on potential impacts of new tax legislation and emerging regulations, proactively suggesting strategic adjustments to company policies and operations.
  • Leads initiatives to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency through the identification and implementation of best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and integration of cutting-edge tax technology solutions to enhance automation, data analytics, and reporting capabilities, driving innovation within the tax function.
  • Analyzes financial data to identify tax risks, opportunities, and implications, providing recommendations to optimize tax positions and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management, to ensure alignment and integration of tax requirements with broader organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with tax authorities, stakeholders, and professional associations, advocating for the company's interests, influencing tax policy, and staying informed of relevant developments.
  • Provides tax training and education to employees, stakeholders, and external parties, promoting awareness and understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Participates in due diligence activities related to mergers and acquisitions, assessing tax implications, risks, and opportunities, and providing recommendations for tax structuring and planning.
  • Owns accountability for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.

Job Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Tax
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or a related course of study.


Licenses and Certifications:


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)
