Job Title: Communications Specialist

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Location: Worcester, MA 01068 (Hybrid)


Summary:

Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine (BGM) organization is looking for a dynamic Communications Specialist II to elevate our internal communication strategy. This contractor role is responsible for coordinating and creating impactful content that fosters employee engagement and showcases BGM's innovative efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, create, and publish engaging internal communications, including newsletters, webcasts, videos, presentations, SharePoint pages, department meeting materials, and other special events.

* Partner with BGM leaders to advance strategic objectives by putting communication plans, campaigns, and employee engagement tactics into action.

* Collaborate with internal and external creative talent to produce multimedia content that enhances message delivery.

* Develop story content and launch new communication channels (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint).

* Track, manage, and execute various internal communication campaigns.

* Design and distribute internal communications, quarterly content and manage the internal communications portals.

* Conduct research and write employee features that align with strategic initiatives.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and cohesive messaging/branding.

* Assist in the planning and execution of internal and external events. Including monthly department meeting.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

* 2-5 years of professional communications experience demonstrating strong project and content management skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

* Proficiency in SharePoint, Office 365, and Teams.

* Basic to intermediate graphic design or video skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

* Basic to intermediate project management skills.

* AP style proficiency and proficiency in social media platforms and digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.

* Familiarity with Canva and media relations.

Required Skills:

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative nature, with the capacity to work efficiently across various organizational levels.

* Fast learner, naturally curious, and results-oriented.
