This role is within CG's Software Engineering function. A successful incumbent is expected to guide and oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Must focus on facilitating collaboration with engineering managers for successful delivery. The position requires effective leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to coordinate efforts across departments, manage stakeholder expectations, and support teams in applying agile principles. This role plays a critical part in driving efficiency, innovation, and successful project outcomes through a combination of structure and flexibility. This role will incorporate Agile practices into the overall program management approach and requires proven experience applying these methodologies in previous roles.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large cross functional projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Accountable for defining and tracking success metrics for software projects.

  • Modify project strategies in response to evolving business requirements and unforeseen obstacles, ensuring timely adjustments.

  • Support teams in applying Agile principles and frameworks while continuously refining processes.

  • Experience with frameworks such as scrum and kanban, with ability to customize to the needs of the company and teams.

  • Evaluate team workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and delivery speed.

  • Act as the primary liaison between teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication of project progress, risks, and roadblocks.

  • Collaborates well with engineering managers and product owners to set project priorities, scope, and timelines.

  • Provides strategic recommendations based on project performance data and team feedback.

  • Proactively identify obstacles that impact team progress and implement solutions to eliminate them.

  • Guides engineering managers how to use resources, solve problems, and handle risks to keep projects moving smoothly

  • Create and develop metrics to assess project processes within Agile teams to ensure stakeholders are making informed decisions.

  • Collaborate with leadership to assign appropriate resources to Agile teams based on project priorities. Anticipate capacity constraints and recommend adjustments to optimize team workload. Make strategic decisions regarding team structure and skill alignment for maximum efficiency.

  • Advocate for Agile principles and methodologies at the organizational level, influencing leadership to adopt best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM)

  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • 5+ years' experience with software development teams in a hybrid hardware/software product development capacity, preferably applications development/configuration or IoT.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong reading comprehension skills

  • Ability to understand business objectives

  • Knowledge of software development best practices in a hardware/software product development

  • Ability to lead and run stakeholder meetings

  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution,

  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: burndown techniques, retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies

  • Experienced with requirements management tools, particularly JIRA and Confluence

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams

  • Ability to analyze team progress, present appropriate burndown charts, and provide executive level presentations on that analysis with business impacts and proposed mitigation plans

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Motivation to pursue and complete training relevant to assigned roles or projects

  • Display high emotional intelligence to connect meaningfully with team members

  • Ability to make informed decisions

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Advanced Scrum Master Certification (A-CSM)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an agile project manager or a similar role in product management or program management, demonstrating a proven track record of successful project delivery using agile methods

The payrange of pay for this position is $81,500 - 155,225; base payoffered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
