Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CAD Expert / Technical Draftsman to support the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN-N) Wireless Lifecycle Refresh and Expansion effort across six Marine Corps installations. This role is critical to developing precise network infrastructure drawings and documentation that support the Engineering, Furnishing, Installing, Securing, and Testing (EFIST) of end-of-life wireless access points and new wireless network expansions. The CAD Expert / Technical Draftsman will collaborate closely with network engineers, systems engineers, and site survey teams to document existing infrastructure and produce detailed technical drawings that reflect both current-state and future-state network configurations. This position will support site surveys, participate in design reviews, and ensure all deliverables meet project and Government specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in network topology documentation, deep familiarity with CAD tools, and the ability to translate technical data into clear, standardized artifacts that support engineering and implementation teams across a geographically dispersed program.



Responsibilities

    Prepare detailed drawings and pattern designs using CAD tools
  • Design project frameworks and create detailed design documentations
  • Ensure drawings meet design goals
  • Suggest improvements to the product, based on initial design
  • Support verification site surveys at government installations to identify and document the current network infrastructure and ensure technical solutions meet the customer requirements
  • Support the Lead Systems Engineer in implementing the technical solutions for new and existing clients
  • Provide feedback to the Lead Systems Engineer on improvements to the technical solutions being implemented
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, inventory and documentation for network infrastructure installations
  • Configuration of network routing and switching equipment
  • Understanding of networking technologies, topologies, and protocols. (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, Ethernet) knowledge of GPON is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in implementing, operating and troubleshooting IP-based Data networks (LAN/WAN/MAN) using Cisco IOS
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently in a global team environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills, able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad team
  • Independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environments


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related field.
  • 5+ years experience in telecommunications and networking experience.
  • 5+ years experience delivering solutions to government clients.
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP Certification is desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, or other industry-standard drafting and diagramming tools.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Government network infrastructure projects.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation. Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass. Must be able to obtain a favorable National Security Agency Check (NACI) including a FBI fingerprint check.

Clearance: This position requires an active Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
