Materials Manager

Responsibilities



  • Responsible for coordinating all logistic related activities and ensure that the proper steps are followed to PTSB expectations (timing, safety, quality, and cost).
  • Coordinates deliverables with all plant functions.



Specific Duties:



  • Responsible for all customer service measurables for all customers. Set and meet high level customer expectations for the department.
  • Ensure that the shipping process is accurate for goods leaving the facility.
  • Provide accurate sales and inventory forecasts.
  • Ensure customer delivery scores are maintained at acceptable levels.
  • Ensure business plan, customer delivery, and inventory targets are met.
  • Oversees accurate raw material procurement.
  • Responsible for Customer Service and Shipping/Receiving for the plant.
  • Analyzes and thoroughly understands all freight charges incurred.
  • Set and meet high level customer expectations for the department.
  • Develop and implement systems to minimize logistics related cost associated with operations.
  • Oversee the flow of goods throughout the Blacksburg facility.
  • Promote constrain management, lean manufacturing, ISO/TS16949 principles.
  • Supports corporate, plant, and purchasing goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains proper ethical standards and behavior.
  • Management of materials, supplies, and services at the best price, quality, and delivery available.
  • Provides purchasing related information and support to other departments as needed.
  • Management capital equipment, services, chemicals, MRO supplies, packaging materials and construction needs as required.



Education



  • Bachelor's Degree in business, materials management, or operations.


Experience



  • 5 years technical experience in materials.
  • 2 years leadership experience.
  • 1 year financial experience
