Civil Designer - Land Development

We are looking for an experienced Civil Designer to join our Land Development Group (Civil Site Design) in our Indianapolis, IN or South Bend, IN office. Our team takes the lead on a wide range of projects including the more traditional residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects, and also works alongside our other team members on Power and Energy, parks, streetscapes, and natural resource work throughout the state of Indiana. Key Responsibilities

• Design land development and infrastructure projects, including stormwater, sanitary systems, roads and utilities.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to deliver a wide range of private and public sector projects.
• Prepare reports, design plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Assist with civil and environmental permits and approvals.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other team members to deliver high quality projects.
• Work with our internal water experts to help protect this valuable resource. Analyze and design projects to minimize impacts to streams, floodplain, wetlands and other water resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5-10 years related experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (preferred but not required).
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Additional experience with GIS and MicroStation (preferred).
• Familiarity with modeling / design tools such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, XPSWMM (preferred).
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling / design tools (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
