Maintenance Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities are:

  • Performs Preventative Maintenance on facility and plant equipment per written PMs.
  • Records findings on PM worksheets issued by the manager.
  • This includes such activities as lubrication, part replacement, and general adjustment.
  • Performs daily maintenance on plant equipment as necessary.
  • Seeks assistance when confronted with unfamiliar issues.
  • Must perform duties consistent with drug, medical device, and cosmetic GMPs.
  • Must keep tools clean and account for tools used on each job to prevent product contamination and equipment damage.
  • Develops rapport with plant operators to gather information regarding existing and developing equipment problems and failures that result in inefficiencies and potential shut-down.
  • Suggest changes and modifications to equipment to improve production capacity, reduce setup and sanitation time, etc.
  • Assists with keeping and developing spare parts inventories.
  • Assists Engineering with the operation of the Wastewater Pre-treatment system and other duties as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Work safely and observe plant safety rules.
  • Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
    Minimum 4 years related experience in repairing packaging machinery and related equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams as it relates to trouble-shooting and maintenance.
  • Problem Solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Spanish as a secondary language preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Physically capable of performing tasks associated with the responsibilities such as but not limited to:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing ladders.
  • Use of hands, fingers, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50lbs.
