The Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children's Hospital is the largest pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus center in North America. Our three main outpatient clinical care sites are located in Boston and Waltham. Combined, these sites have 23 exam rooms, and our satellite offices in Peabody, Lexington, Weymouth, Sandwich, and Stoneham have a total of 12 exam rooms. All exam rooms have equipment necessary for measurement of visual acuity, retinoscopy/refraction, and sensorimotor exam. Each of the main locations have additional testing rooms, which include visual field mapping, photography (external and retinal), and electro-diagnostics. The three main locations each have ~15,500 sq ft of clinical space, and the satellite offices each have between 500 and 1,200 square feet. Within the department there are 15 pediatric ophthalmologists, 7 orthoptists, 7 pediatric optometrists, 6 ophthalmic technicians, 3 pediatric ophthalmology fellows, and 3 ophthalmology residents, accomplishing 38,000 visits annually. This Clinical Research Specialist III will work directly for Dr. Anne Fulton, who has led groundbreaking molecular and cellular studies to establish and advance knowledge in the development of normal retinal processes. As a physician scientist, Dr. Fulton has served as the Principle Investigator on over 30 funded projects including work with the NIH. Dr. Fulton is currently enrolling patients in clinical trials to treat rare inherited retinal disorders. Responsibilities include:
