Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III for the Pediatrics department within New Jersey Medical School.

The Research Teaching Specialist III ( RTS) will perform all study coordination for the NJ Autism Study and related research. The RTS III will maintain study databases, perform data abstraction and data cleaning. The RTS III will monitor research grant application requirements and deadlines and ensure timely and accurate compliance. Will aid in proposal writing and general administration of grants. Assists the Principal Investigator (PI) in developing and staging research activities, schedules, protocols, and budgets.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Performs confidential data management, including data abstraction, data cleaning and data analysis.
  • Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows and technicians in various techniques and procedures to develop the skills necessary to carry out assignments in the laboratory assistants.
  • May assists with the coordination and evaluation of non-professional staff members' work.
  • Develops and monitors research activities and budgets.
  • Administers grants, including IRB and grant reporting requirements.
  • Assist in proposal development and scientific writing.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a Masters' Degree, plus one (1) year exp. or Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years in a related scientific field or discipline.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of epidemiologic methods and procedures.
  • Must have excellent communication and administrative skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Five years of relevant professional research experience preferred.
