Now hiring a Safety Coordinator II Presbyterian is seeking a Safety Coordinator II to collaborate with the Safety Manager in the operational activities of the Safety Department. Ideal Candidate: Associates Degree with a concentration in either Environmental Health and Safety or Fire Science or Emergency Management preferred. One to three years experience in Safety, Emergency Management or closely related field. 3 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities
- Schedules, coordinates and documents Fire Drills as necessary for PHS CDS facilities
- Schedules, conducts, and documents environmental tours as required by the Joint Commission for all PHS CDS facilities.
- Participates in the planning, implementation and assessment of emergency preparedness exercises.
- Conducts accident/injury investigations and ergonomic workstation evaluations as required.
- Participates in JC Environment of Care readiness, as well as all other regulatory agency inspections.
- Assists in maintaining the Hazardous Materials inventory and corresponding MSDS database. Participates in the chemical exposure monitoring program for all PHS CDS facilities as required.
- Participates as a trained member of the PHS CDS Hazardous Material/Spill Response team.
- Conducts Indoor Air Quality investigations related to complaint or construction related activities, as necessary.
- Prepares written memos, Standard Operating Procedures, forms and completes other written projects as necessary, under direction of Safety Manager.
- Acts as a safety resource to managers and employees.
- Maintains necessary documentation of PHS Safety Compliance.
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of common OSHA, JC, CMS and NFPA standards.
- Participates in education programs and in-service meetings.
- Provides on call coverage for the department during and outside of normal business hours as part of the rotational call schedule.
- Responds to emergency or disaster situations as required.
*Tracking and managing of manifests to include signing for them when necessary - Scheduled audits of CAA and SAA hazardous waste storage areas and containers for compliance
- Scheduled audits of universal waste storage areas and containers for compliance
- Corrective actions necessary regarding PHS or vendor hazardous waste violations
- Assist units, departments, or clinics with infrequent disposal of hazardous waste
