JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented AI/ML Research & Development Engineer to join our AI Applied Research & Development team. In this role, you will focus on developing and implementing LLM-enhanced, predictive and generative AI solutions within Cox Communications. Our team is a pioneering R&D team that applies front-of-curve methods and emerging solutions. The work includes the use of LLMs for advanced reasoning, content generation, synthetic feature generation, model-tuning, and custom neural network training.

Within our multi-disciplinary team, the Research & Development Engineers cover wide range of duties spanning data engineering, data science, ML/Deep Learning model development, novel AI model and tooling deployment, application development, back-end and front-end development, and pilot planning & deployment. Given the extremely fast pace of evolution in AI, we prefer generalist who is able to confidently cover a wide range of responsibilities along the software development and data science spectrum.

We are looking for a curious mind that has a passion for AI / ML research and AI-powered product development. A strong foundation in data science, software development, or machine learning will be extremely helpful. However, given the pace of advancement in AI, the key skillset to be successful in this role is the ability to understand real-time technological breakthroughs and can translate those capabilities into working solutions that immediately improve business outcomes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and business partners to design, develop, and deploy custom AI/ML models and solutions
  • Work on data engineering and data science tasks, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization
  • Develop and maintain datasets, data pipelines, and data architectures to support ML workflows
  • Apply machine learning algorithms and techniques to solve complex problems and drive business value
  • Build pilot-ready web applications or API-level interfaces to existing UX platforms.
  • Develop and deploy software in a containerized environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and ML research, reading academic papers and applying newly invented methods to real-world problems
  • Participate in the development of proprietary neural network training and emerging open-source AI solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and develop solutions that drive business value
  • Application of AI/ML frameworks and technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Langchain, Anthrophic, OpenAI, ollama, HuggingFace, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, AWS Sagemaker)
  • Experience with programming in Python
  • Experience in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for AI solutions

  • Graduate degree strongly preferred

USD 144,900.00 - 241,500.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $144,900.00 - $241,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
