Job Overview

Reporting to Director, Finance - PFT Americas ETO Manufacturing, this position will work with a team of financial and operational professionals in the maintenance of existing policies and procedures as well as the deployment of the teams' resources to address a diverse range of issues and opportunities as they arise. This role is highly collaborative in nature, requiring excellent communication skills in both the sharing of financial concepts and the grasping of cross-functional imperatives including operational execution, commercial strategies, and cost implications of project accounting. Success for this individual will be achievement of the Annual Operating Plan ("AOP"), as well as driving revenue growth, margin expansion, and net working capital optimization using Ingersoll Rand's IRX tools and processes.

Responsibilities:


  • Managerial Reporting:
    Provide insightful month end analytical reporting which delivers context as well as implications of the financial results, trends, risks and opportunities.



    • Examples of key managerial reporting
      include monthly operating review, weekly shipping trends, order rates, backlog, and NWC metrics such as inventory performance.




  • Control Environment:
    Champion strong financial controls through strict adherence to all existing SOX narratives and promote a pro-active partnership with both internal and external audit teams in the identification and resolution of current or future gaps. As well as both establishing and maintaining a strong culture of compliance with all direct reports.



    • Examples of key processes
      include revenue cut-off, warranty, obsolescence and other valuation reserves, account reconciliations.


    • Forecasting / Budgeting:
      Support the administration of timely and accurate forecasts of commercial outlooks. Developing close relationships with multiple financial and business stakeholders by assessing risk and opportunities both on the P&L and balance sheet



      • Key forecast deliverables include estimation of revenue, shipments, incorporation of conversion and material price variances as well as direct and indirect spending.


      • Key budget deliverables include timely development and top line growth expectations and corresponding production and spend data in accordance with corporate guidance


      • Liaison to PFT and Corporate leadership:
        Facilitate timely and appropriate response to requests originating from shared financial service, corporate FP&A, and PFT leadership to ensure optimal business performance.



        • Examples of functional liaison
          include support for Intercompany Profit elimination, insurance programs, treasury collaboration, managing PD AR via Shared Services, and other initiatives to support business objectives.


        • Business Partnership:
          Participation and leadership in business processes such as IRX (Ingersoll Rand Execution Excellence) for the realization of both tactical and strategic objectives.



          • An example of business process leadership
            includes development and leadership of a swim lane in support of one or more Impact Daily Management teams.


          • Liaise with plant and cross functional leadership teams to support those functions by providing analytical and business decision support to drive margin expansion, financial forecasts, operating plans, and strategic goals.


          • Interact with international SSI locations and support Intercompany activities such as Intercompany profit elimination and accurate reporting of IC receivable and payable balances.


          • Deploy Talent:
            Foster a work environment that aligns the team in the achievement of corporate objectives while developing personnel, building redundancy, and ensuring business continuity.



            • Examples of team development
              include succession planning, personnel development plans, engagement enhancement through identification and resolution of potential impediments to progress. The role is a coach and mentor to all direct and indirect reports.

              Required Qualifications:


              • Ability to drive performance through others and support colleagues in pursuit of the team goal while ensuring a focus on deliverables


              • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability influence and coach teams towards financial objectives.


              • Strong numerical skills, analytical thinking, careful structured approach applying accounting acumen related to a manufacturing environment.


              • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related Business Concentrations.


              • 5+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.


              • ~15% travel required.





              Preferences:


              • MBA, CMA, CFA, CPA certification.


              • Audit experience (partnering both internally and externally).


              • Familiarity and experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and HFM


              • High competency with Excel, HFM, data warehouses, and other business systems.


              • Experience working with ASC 606 (percent of complete accounting)





              Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements


              • Fully site based with 15% of travel




              Pay Range


              The pay range for this role is $99,000 - $150,000, excluding incentive opportunities. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
