About the RoleDo you have a passion for hands-on, technical work in a fast paced environment? We may have the opportunity for you! As an Engineering Technician I, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. You'll assist with constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems and help ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.

A successful candidate must be self-motivated. The Test Technician I will be required to perform the following job duties:
Assist in environmental test setups of space flight hardware with data logging, chamber programming, and sensor installation. With space flight hardware inside, ramp chamber temperature following a posted thermal profile and requirement set designed by each program's team. Monitor electronic thermal data and record written data at an increment specific to program requirements. Troubleshoot & correct thermal data logger malfunctions. Configure Thermal and Vacuum ports to accommodate unique electrical and mechanical test needs. Communicate test status to fellow Test Technicians to facilitate effective handoff and overall test plan coordination. Assist in chamber maintenance and upkeep as required. Report to the Technician Supervisor and complete all job specific tasks given by him/her. Assist Assembly, Integration, and Test operations on the production floor as directed by management. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Thermal Vacuum chamber operation experience and basic vacuum knowledge is a requirement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related field of study A higher-level degree may substitute for experience Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education Familiarity with technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications Familiarity with test concepts and techniques, and test standard lab equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree with a focus on Electronics Prior experience in a manufacturing environment Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military Attention to detail High level of responsibility and integrity Have desire to work with your hands and basic hand tools Basic computer skills required. Microsoft office experience is welcome
